Sophia Crawford was a cousin of Susan Baker and Matilda Clow and the aunt of Mrs. Albert Crawford. After arguing with Susan that God is love, they never spoke to each other again. Sophia's third husband, Mr. Crawford, died early, as did his predecessors. She was always sad, sighed often and had grey hair.
